Colombia’s climate varies by altitude and coast far more than by calendar date. The Caribbean coast (Cartagena, Santa Marta) stays hot and relatively dry December through March, then wetter the rest of the year. The Andean cities (Bogotá, Medellín) have their own two dry windows (December–March and July–August) tied to altitude rather than the coast’s pattern. The Pacific coast is genuinely one of the rainiest places on Earth nearly year-round, with July and August as its relative dry spell. The Amazon stays hot and humid essentially all year, with December to March offering marginally better travel conditions.
